Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (for NICU) Must-Have: - Comfortable floating between specialties: ICU, MICU, MS-Tele, ER, etc. - Experience in Level II NICU and comfort with deliveries and initiating CPAP. - Minimum of 2 years of experience. - Okay with first-time travelers. - Flexible scheduling and willingness to fill gaps in the permanent staff. Job Description: - Administer and manage respiratory treatments, including ABGs (radial or brachial). - Assist (not independently required) in intubation procedures. - Provide care for a variety of patients, including NICU Level IIB, MICU, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics, as well as PACU treatments and overnight oximetry. - Cover ER and Inpatient areas across all floors. - Utilize and be knowledgeable about respiratory equipment such as Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, and EPOC. - Participate in self-scheduling; willingness to be flexible, rotate shifts, and fill gaps where needed. - Fulfill weekend requirements on an every-other-weekend basis. - Participate in holiday rotations as required. - Floating may be necessary throughout the hospital and possibly to sister facilities with proper notice. - Follow dress code requiring clean and professional attire in any color scrubs. - Complete orientation with a preceptor in 1-2 shifts, typically covering NICU/General and ICU. - Engage with an EPIC charting system for documentation. - Work within a care setting involving acute patient management with intensivists and hospitalists available 24/7. - Maintain professional development and skill enhancement during self-managed floating opportunities and interdisciplinary interactions.
